Universidad Casa Grande de Guayaquil gave workshop of "Fake News" to students of the UDA

The 11 of April, the Casa Grande University of Guayaquil, through its masters in Digital Journalism, offered a workshop in the School of Communication of the UDA about "fake news" (false news) by Mabel González, teacher and researcher of Subjectivity and Social Networks, and Héctor Bujanda, professor of Journalism, chronicler and Venezuelan writer.

At the start of the event, Jorge Tigrero, Coordinator of the Master's in Digital Communication at the Casa Grande University, invited all those present to attend the launch of the book "The Laws of the Interface" by Carlos Scolari, who specializes in digital communication , the 20 of April in Guayaquil.

Then, Mabel González began her presentation with reference to her research topic "How digital affects the identity" and exposed several figures that reflected the ways of information consumption worldwide.

Then he referred to the current users of social networks: "We need to process the information, we need time to discuss them and get perspective."

"But networks are eliminating this a bit, because now there is a compulsion to answer or share without having read the full publication," said Gonzalez.

Hector Bujanda, for his part, indicated that "it is difficult to identify a troll or false information, but one can always appreciate that within a text there are certain patterns that do not allow to suspect".

The Venezuelan professor concluded that it is increasingly difficult to distinguish what is reality and what is simulacrum.
