FLACSO announces its master's degree programs

The Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO) gave an informative talk in the Postgraduate Auditorium of the Universidad del Azuay about its master's programs for the 2018-2020 period.

The presentation, which lasted 30 minutes, was made by the economist Juan Ponce, director of the Ecuadorian headquarters of FLACSO.

The event was coordinated by the Postgraduate Department of the Universidad del Azuay and had the participation of university students as well as the general public.

For Catalina Serrano, Postgraduate Director of the UDA, "it is an honor that FLACSO visits the UDA and that its maximum representative also comes as part of the delegation".

The talk was held on Friday 6 from April at six in the afternoon. Prior to the main event, the protocol greeting took place between Francisco Salgado, Rector of the University of Azuay, and Juan Ponce in the rector's office. There, the directors of both institutions had a fifteen minute meeting before the director of FLACSO went to the postgraduate auditorium to give the talk.

In total, 14 research master's programs were presented. All the master's degrees have a focus on the social sciences and open the door to continuing the academic training, since the master's degrees of FLACSO allow then to apply for a doctorate.

According to Ponce, "FLACSO is one of the most prestigious postgraduate universities in the country and in the region. Having a graduate degree here can open many doors to the future. "

The master's degrees offered are in the areas of anthropology, visual anthropology, communication and public opinion, rural territorial development, development economics, socio-environmental studies, urban studies, gender and development, comparative politics, public policies, international relations with mention in negotiation and cooperation international, international relations with mention in security and human rights, sociology and political sociology.
