"We saw the orange UDA, leave your mark" was the motto of the University of Azuay to join the global campaign "Join, to end violence against women and girls" convened by the United Nations.

The event was held at the November 27 in the courtyard of the Central Administration and aimed to create awareness and sensitivity in both men and women to put aside all types of gender violence and create change.

"The University of Azuay was invited by the United Nations to be part of the campaign at the international level and together with the students of the third cycle of Social Communication, several ideas were raised up to the final campaign; they were the architects, "said Alejandra Zarama, a teacher at the School.

Authorities, teachers, students and administrative staff were part of the campaign writing motivational phrases in orange ribbons to strengthen awareness.

Expressions such as "we are more united," not one less "," a life without violence is a fundamental right "and many other thoughts were written.

Francisco Salgado, Rector of the University, said: "Let us be aware of making a permanent campaign to eradicate violence against women and girls, it is proposed that every 25 of each month represent the color orange in different ways because it needs to be permanent "

Some students collaborated to have them put on their faces as if someone had hit them, through this action they wanted to create intrigue of who saw them and to ask if they were okay.

"People saw us and took our eyes away, maybe they would think we had some disease, we walked and they walked away. It would have been good if they came to ask how you are doing, to give a word of encouragement and not simply to avoid looking, "said Ariana Pazmiño, about her experience when she toured the university with her face" beaten ".

With this it was possible to raise awareness, make a change in the public to respect a little more both women and men.
