First Ceremony-Workshop of the Inti Raymi in the UDA

The June 21 was held in the courtyard of General Administration of the University of Azuay the first ceremony-workshop of the cultural tradition of Inti Raymi.

Before starting the celebration, Francisco Salgado, Rector of the UDA, gave a short speech of welcome and argued that interculturality should be lived and always keep in mind the mutual respect between different cultures.

"The emergence of human beings is the key to reciprocity," concluded the Rector.

The ceremony was held and explained by the sociologist Milton Cáceres, who maintained that we ourselves have forgotten the ancestral cultures of which we are a part.

Cáceres also spoke about the Cañari culture and explained about the "Kori Cancha" that is considered by the ancient ethnic groups as "a house".

This represents different natural elements such as water, sun and moon; the colors of nature; the trees, the animals, the mountains, among others.

The importance of "Kori Cancha" is related to the importance of taking care of the world.

The sociologist made an analogy between the natural elements of the Kori Cancha and education, mentioning that life, knowledge and justice have to be woven; He said that nature is a great source of knowledge.

Cáceres also explained the benefits of some natural plants and commented that we must worry about the social future and intern to prevent catastrophic diseases.

To end the ceremony, the sociologist made an invitation to recognize the natural and what the human being elaborates thanks to fire, water and natural plants.
