Contemporary geopolitical analysis
Faculty: Faculty of Legal Sciences
Subject code: OPJ0011
Since the decade of 2010, with the end of the American era in the international sphere, the equilibriums (and disequilibrium) existing between states have gone through dramatic changes which share the characteristic of being usually unforeseeable and erratic, at least apparently. The emergence of new Powers and the decline, more or less evident, of others; The explosion of social, political, economic, religious, and territorial instabilities in areas previously considered stable may appear to be isolated events occurring due to different causes in various and far areas of the planet. However, if looked through a careful lens it is possible to spot a red line capable of connecting each one of these events in a cause-effect row. Performing this analytical work is impossible today, or at least is extremely difficult, using the classical International Relations theories, which have been demonstrated to be on many occasions lapse in front of the contemporary world.
