Martina Caretta
PhD in Human Geography (Stockholm University) and Master in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Sciences (Lund University). She investigates water scarcity, differentiated vulnerabilities and adaptation processes from local knowledge among women and minorities, as well as the dimensions of resistance and unpaid care in climate change mitigation. She has taught classes at Stockholm, Lund, and West Virginia universities. She has been a consultant for UNESCO; the World Bank and the Delegation of the European Union to the UN. She has conducted research in Kenya, Tanzania, Ecuador, Venezuela and Appalachia in the US. Her ethical stance as a feminist geographer is based on the importance of participatory and decolonizing research methodologies, which require sharing research results with participating communities.
