Welcome to the members of the American Council on Education and the representative of the American Embassy

On April 18, the University of Azuay together with its International Relations department welcomed the members of the American Council on Education and the representative of the American Embassy, ​​an event that is framed in the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically objective 4: Quality Education. 

The event was attended by authorities, teachers, administrative staff and students from our university community. 

The welcoming words were given by our rector, Francisco Salgado, who pointed out the relevance of being on par with the world, promoting internationalization among young people not only in terms of mobility programs, but also in internationalization of the curriculum to form citizens capable of care and transform the world into a community. 

Mckenna Brown, reviewer for the American Council on Education, also addressed those present, commenting that it is extremely important to prepare the next generation of young people to face an increasingly globalized world and these programs precisely contribute significantly to their future employment.

In turn, Juan Ignacio Burneo Public Engagement Coordinator at US Embassy commented on the importance of internationalization in universities and how the United States embassy together with the American Council on Education (ACE) can help our institution achieve important objectives. 

The meeting ended with the intervention of Marcelo Calle, director of the International Relations department, who made a presentation about our internationalization programs and explained what we had worked on recently. 

Tomorrow, Friday, April 19, 2024, a feedback meeting will be held on the aspects discussed during the day and the program will close.
